KP CM Gandapur moves PHC for transit bail

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur moved Peshawar High Court (PHC) for transit bail in cases registered against him in Islamabad, ARY New reported. As per details, CM Gandapur stated in his plea that he want to appear before the court but he might get arrested before his appearance at the court. He urged the court to fix the plea for hearing today and approve his transit bail in order to appear before the court. Earlier, an Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Ali Amin Gandapur in a case registered at Police Station I-9 under terrorism sections. The court rejected Gandapur’s pre-arrest bail application and ordered him to appear before the court. Electricity theft: Pakistan recovers over Rs119 bln from defaulters

The Power Division has recovered over Rs119 billion during a countrywide electricity theft crackdown, ARY News reported on Friday. The crackdown launched by the Pakistani government and military leadership’s measures to restore the country’s economy is now showing positive results. According to the details, Rs119.79 billion have been recovered from individuals involved in the electricity theft crackdown while 85,572 electricity thieves were arrested since the crackdown began. The relevant institutions collected over one billion rupees from electricity thieves in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, Sukkur, Quetta, Hyderabad and Islamabad, from September 24 to October 2. KARACHI: Former president Dr. Arif Alvi’s wife and son, Awaab Alvi, have moved the Sindh High Court (SHC) against the sealing of their dental clinic in Karachi. The family of former president filed plea for de-sealing of their dental clinic located at Sindhi Muslim Society, a posh area of Karachi. The petition claims that the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) sealed the clinic as an act of political revenge. Barrister Ali Tahir, the petitioners’ lawyer, stated that Dr. Arif Alvi is being harassed purely on political grounds. The petition further highlighted that the dental clinic has been operational for many years, and no prior notice was given before sealing, which is deemed an illegal action. Six BLA terrorists ‘gunned down’ in Harnai IBO

RAWALPINDI: Six terrorists of Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) by security forces in Harnai area of Balochistan, ARY News reported citing sources. According to sources, security forces conducted a joint operation on BLA hideouts in Harnai on September 12, resulting in the death of six key terrorists, including Shafu Smallani aka Tadin, Sarmad Khan alias Dastain, Mohammed Gul Mari alias Wahid Baloch, and Ghulam Qadir Mari alias Injeer Baloch, Obaid Baloch alias Fida and Taj Mohammed alias Babul were also among the terrorists killed. The killed terrorists were involved in direct attacks on security forces and innocent people, sources added. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shibli Faraz’s name removed from Exit Control List (ECL), ARY News reported. As per details, Assistant Attorney General Shaista Khalid appeared before the court and informed the court that the name of PTI leader has been removed from the ECL and PCL. Punjab enforces Section 144 in Mianwali ahead of PTI rally

LAHORE: The Punjab government has enforced Section 144 in Mianwali for seven days (October 1 to 7), prohibiting political gatherings, sit-ins, rallies, demonstrations, and protests. This decision comes in response to a protest call by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for October 2 in Mianwali. According to the notification issued by Punjab Home Department, the Section 144 has been enforced at the recommendation of the district administration, it has also been decided to deploy Rangers in the area, with two companies stationed from October 1 to October 3.
