Train derailment near Padidan suspends rail traffic

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE : Allama Iqbal Express escaped a major disaster when two of its bogies derailed near Padidan railway station in Naushahro Feroze district in the wee hours of Saturday, resulting in the suspension of traffic on the affected railway track. According to details, two bogies of Allama Iqbal Express, en route to Sialkot from Karachi, were derailed near Padidan railway station due to which rail traffic on the Up Track was suspended. No loss of life was reported in the accident, said rescue officials. The cause of the derailment is yet to be ascertained. Meanwhile, railway officials with heavy machinery reached the spot and launched operation to clear the track for traffic. In a similar incident reported on June 1, at least 10 people were injured when a bogie of Mianwali Express derailed near Faisalabad. Pakistan stresses to implement UNSC resolutions on Kashmir

Pakistan has stressed for implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions regarding Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking at the UN Security Council (UNSC) High-Level Open Debate on Famine and Conflict-Induced Global Food Security in New York, Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, Ambassador Aamir Khan called for an UN-supervised plebiscite to enable the people of Jammu and Kashmir to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination. Ambassador Aamir Khan said the world community must ensure that economic deprivation and food insecurity are not utilized by the Indian occupation to crush the legitimate freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people. According to the details, the project, in the suburbs of Bandra, will cover an expansive area of nearly half an acre, with a total construction area of the 11-floored residency to be 1.75 lakh square feet.
