PM Kakar directs PCB to organise PSL-9 matches across country

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has directed to evolve a comprehensive strategy to organise the Pakistan Super League Season 9 (PSL-9) matches across the country, ARY News reported on Tuesday. The prime minister issued these directives while chairing a meeting regarding the affairs of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). During the meeting, the premier was informed that the PSL-9 season would be held in February 2024 and matches will be played in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan. The premier also directed to start the restoration work of Quetta’s Bugti Stadium and Peshawar’s Arbab-e Niaz Stadium to hold international cricket matches there. Similarly, he pointed out that Gwadar Cricket Stadium and Pissan Stadium in Nagar area of Gilgit-Baltistan could also be made capable of holding cricket matches. LHC moved against keeping underage drivers in police lockup

A plea has been filed with the Lahore High Court (LHC) against keeping underage drivers in police lockups, ARY News reported. As per details, the plea was moved by Rana Sikandar Advocate against keeping underage drivers in police lockups. The plea stated that police are keeping juvenile children in lockups over driving licence violations. Keeping underage kids in lockups is against the law under the Act of 2018, Rana Sikandar said in his plea. The LHC has been pleaded with to pass orders in this regard. LAHORE: Following the plea filed for Khadija Shah’s custody, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore on Monday approved the request and sent the accused under the Balochistan police custody in Quetta case, ARY News reported. According to the details, an ATC Judge Abhar Gul Khan delivered the verdict and sent the accused Khadija Shah, under the Balochistan police custody in the Quetta case. The investigation team pleaded that the accused Khadija Shah is wanted in the Quetta case. Last month, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporter Khadija Shah challenged her 30-day detention in the Lahore High Court on Saturday. PPP mulls seat adjustment with ANP in Karachi, KP

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership have contacted Awami National Party (ANP) on forming an electoral alliance and seat adjustment in Karachi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for the upcoming general elections, ARY News reported on Sunday citing sources. Sources said that PPP has discussed seat adjustment with ANP on Karachi’s two National Assembly (NA) seats. Moreover, the two parties also discussed forming an electoral alliance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the upcoming elections. PPP and ANP are likely to make a seat adjustment in Peshawar, Swabi, Charsadda, Malakand, Mardan, Karak, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan), say sources.
