LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has approved the construction of 21-storey Arfa Karim Tower-II in Lahore, ARY News reported on Tuesday. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Maryam Nawaz in which a briefing was given on IT, Education and Film City Project in Lahore. Punjab chief minister was briefed that these projects will start soon as Microsoft, Oracle, and other big companies have expressed their willingness for IT City. During the meeting, Maryam Nawaz instructed to invite the big IT companies of China to build offices, saying that the best IT companies in the world would be provided business opportunities in the IT City. New westerly wave enters in Balochistan, districts put on alert

QUETTA: A new westerly weather system has entered in Balochistan, as rainfall and snowfall at hills continuing in various districts of the province, ARY News reported on Monday. The Quetta valley and adjoining areas receiving bouts of rainfall during the rainy spell. Deputy commissioners of various districts of Balochistan have issued alert to tackle any emergency situation. Most of the districts are expected to receive more rainfall during next 24 hours. Punjab govt kicks off forests preservation project

LAHORE: Punjab Government on Sunday kicked off the first major project in history of country to preserve environment, wildlife and forests, ARY News reported. In this connection, the meeting was held in Lahore under the chairmanship of Senior Minister of Punjab Marriyum Aurangzeb. The meeting granted approval for the first-ever zoological survey in Punjab to get complete data on different species. The meeting also decided to establish Punjab’s first digital wildlife archives and also approved the establishment of the first Wildlife Protection Force. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed on Friday demanded general amnesty for political prisoners including incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder, ARY News reported. “I was first to demand the release of the PTI chairman, now everyone should be pardoned after general elections,” Mushahid Hussain Syed said while speaking on the floor of the Senate of Pakistan. Italy’s visa services now available in THIS Pakistani city

Italy has launched its visa service from Lahore with plans to extend the facility to other major cities in the country soon. It was announced by Italian Embassy First Secretary Augusto Palmeiri while speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). LCCI President Kashif Anwar, Senior Vice President Zafar Mahmood Chaudhry and executive member Chaudhry Khadim were present on the occasion. Palmeiri highlighted that Lahore held special significance as it was the first city he visited in his official capacity as the embassy secretary. He emphasised the importance of strengthening ties between Italy and Pakistan, both in terms of general cooperation and business ventures.
