Flour prices witness third hike in one week

PESHAWAR: The prices of flour have witnessed a third hike within one week, taking the price of a 20-kilogram bag to Rs 2200, ARY News reported. As per details, the flour dealers said that after the hike the prices of mixed flour reached Rs 2100 in Peshawar. The dealers further said flour prices of 20-kilogram bags registered a Rs 500 increase in one week. On July 1, the price of 20-kilogram flour bags was increased by Rs 200 in Peshawar.  The price of an 80-kilogram flour bag was hiked by Rs 1000 in the provincial capital. The price of a 20-kilogram bag earlier reached Rs 2000 after an increase of Rs 200 whereas the mixed flour bag increased from Rs 1700 to Rs 1900. KARACHI: Sea breeze has restored in the port city and a cloudy weather prevails with a windy weather, according to the Met Office report. The southwesterly winds blowing with 23 kilometers speed in Karachi with 33 Celsius present temperature, according to the weather department. The ‘feel like’ temperature has been 42 Celsius, the Met Office report said. Southwesterly sea breeze that used to keep the weather bearable in this city of scarce vegetation has restored. Boeing says to buy subcontractor Spirit for $4.7 billion

US aircraft manufacturer Boeing said Monday it had reached a “definitive deal” to buy its subcontractor Spirit, which has faced scrutiny over production quality control in recent months. “The merger is an all-stock transaction at an equity value of approximately $4.7 billion, or $37.25 per share,” the company said in a statement. Boeing disclosed in March that it was in talks to potentially reacquire Spirit, which it spun off in 2005 to lower costs. “We believe this deal is in the best interest of the flying public, our airline customers, the employees of Spirit and Boeing, our shareholders and the country more broadly,” said Boeing president and CEO Dave Calhoun. He said by reintegrating Spirit, “we can fully align our commercial production systems”, including safety and quality management systems, and “our workforce to the same priorities, incentives and outcomes — centered on safety and quality”.
